BACTRIAL INFECTIONS
Any bacterium can cause vaginal infections. Bacteria that are normally find in the vagina can attack the
lining under certain circumstances. Injury to the vaginal lining (child birth and surgery) can causse
vaginal infections and discharges. The same happens when the thickness of vaginal lining is effected.
It is thin and easily infected in children and post menopausal women due to a lack of oestrogen.
As in the case of all vaginal infections the discharge is examined and an effort is made to identify
the offending germ.
