Is a person with one tube fertile?

ANSWER
It depends on the condition of the other tube. If the other tube is normal and healthy and there are no other factors involved , she should be fertile.

What do you mean by high or low FSH and LH levels?

ANSWER
The levels of these two hromones are determine by a complicated method and usually reported in mIU/L (miliInternationalUnits/Liter) The numeric values regarded as normal differ between different laboratiries. The values given here is just a guideline. Normal values 2-10 mIU/L High values more than 15 mIU/L. Low values below 2 mIU/L. Never try to intrepret the values yourself, leave it to your doctor.

Why are hysterectomies necessary? Is it a successful operation? Are there altenatives? What are the complications and side effects?

ANSWER
There are many indications for doing hysterectomies. The most frequent are:
Excessive bleeding
Growths in the uterus (womb)
Cancer of the uterus (cervical and endometrial)
Prolapse of the female organs.

It is a successful operation if done for the right reasons. It also depends on the indication for doing a hysterectomy. An exmple is if it is done to cancer it may fail to heal the person. It depends on how far the cancer advanged.

ALternatives depend on the underlying disease. If there is excessive bleeding than an alternative is endomtrial ablation ( destruction of the endometrium ) . This will decrease the bleeding in many cases.The endomtrium is the lining the lines the cavity in the womb. ,> Complications can occur . The most frequent ones are
|Bleeding that requires blood transfusion.
Infections and abces formation
Surgical injury to either the bladder, the bowel or the kidney pipes.
